An interesting drawing by the Swedish artist Mana Lagerholm, painted using gouache, watercolour, graphite and coloured pencil. The drawing depicts an outdoors view with three figures and peculiar objects. The two furthest figures are holding a carrot. This is a modernist piece with naive elements, where the artist has composed a daily scene from a highly expressive and sensitive perspective. Well-presented in a card mount. Unsigned. On watercolour paper.Condition

Artist Biography
Mana Lagerholm was a Swedish artist born in 1946. After she married, Lagerholm attended Falmouth College of Art in Cornwall. The artist was initially keen on studying sculpture, but later found an interest in painting. From the late 1980s until her death in 2001, the artist returned to Sweden, where she continued her art practice. She has been characterised as a highly sensitive, intelligent and spiritual person, who translated that into her practice.
