Collection Information
F.A. Molony (fl. 1930-1939) was a Major in the Royal Engineers. The National Army Museum hold his work. His work was also shown at an exhibition of officers work at the R.B.A. Galleries (Army Officers' Art Society): "Works in water-colour predominated here as in most exhibitions by amateurs. Several of the officers represented, most notably Sir Arthur Scott, but also W. Howel Jones, W. G. Elphinston, E. A. S. Gell, F. A. Molony, H. R. B. Donne, J. Bois, P. W. Elliot, W. H. Rean and S. J. Driscall, revealed a not less than professional accomplishment and, occasionally, invention. Of the oil pictures which were not quite so good, the best were by J.B. MacGeorge and M. D. C. Hanbury-Tracy. There were some sensitive works in pastel by C. S. Heaton-Armstrong and a group of admirably executed illuminations in the Celtic style by M. M. Haldane. "We acquired a collection of his work in a suitcase of his (as shown in photograph). For our full collection of Major F.A. Molony's work click here
