W. Lindsay Cable - Original Mid 20th Century Pen and Ink Drawing. Draw on textured canvas paper. Inscribed on the reverse, "W.L. Cable. Taunton Cross, Shute, Axminster, Devon." Signed. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, notable in a horizontal stain across sky area, as shown. There are two closed tears extending in from the right edge measuring 4.5cm and 3cm each.

W. Lindsay Cable was a children's books illustrator during the 1940s. He illustrated Enid Blyton's books in 1940 and 1942, and worked for the Ministry of Information. He also worked for a number of years for Punch magazine.
