A very well done Leslie Greenwood floral watercolour of a Bourbon Rose. Inscribed Rosa bourboniana 'Mme Pierre Oger'. Signed lower right corner. Painted on heavy paper. In excellent condtion. Leslie Greenwood was primarily a watercolour painter specialising in accurate floral studies. He received two gold medals from the Royal Horticultural Society and was a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a Fellow of the Linnean Society. He illustrated a book called Flowers of the World (first published in 1972 by Crown, The University of Michigan, 320 pages) He exhibited frequently at Royal Horticultural Society shows and in 1977 at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation of the Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
