A fine and substantial 20th Century coastal landscape in oil, depicting a Mediterranean coastline with woodland and gnarled roots among the sand. The artist may have depicted the south of France, with grassy dunes and blue waters, striking a perfect balance between impressionist brushwork and realist detail. Well-presented in a gilt wood frame with running foliate moulding. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
In very good condition overall. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Some light surface scuffing to the frame.
