Judy Lee - 2007 Reduction Lino Print, Provençal Window

A pretty reduction linocut in a vibrant palette showing a ginger cat with milk churns outside a shuttered window under a lilac bush. The artist has signed and inscribed and numbered (2/6) to the lower edge. The low run number is typical for a reduction print as the plate is incrementally destroyed as the coloured layers are printed.

The print has several labels at the back of the frame with framing information, gallery information and artist's information. The print is handsomely presented in a bird's eye beech veneer frame with a layered cream mount.

On wove.

The print and frame are in fine condition.

19 x 30cm (7.5" x 11.8")
Framed Size: 42 x 52.8cm (16.5" x 20.8")

Collection Information

A reduction print is made when an artist creates a multi-colored, layered print using a single print block. The block could be foam, linoleum or even wood. The artist repeats the process of carving and printing over and over until the final look is achieved.
