A charming and delicate watercolour depiction of a countryside house. On watercolour paper, laid to thick card. Signed to the lower left-hand corner.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing, mainly to the sky area.

Artist Biography
Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, John Gutteridge Sykes studied at Sheffield School of Art. Sykes spent most of his life in Newlyn, Cornwall. His daughter, Dorcie Sykes, also became a well known painter in watercolour.
