Description
A Romantic mezzotint with aquatint in colour, printed in Mezzotint printed in colour. The print shows two sisters (The daughters of amateur artist Emily Greenwood Calmady) looking at a picture of a landscape while draped around each other. The print has been signed by the artist in pencil at the lower right corner and has an inscription at the top edge showing the publisher and date of publication.
The print has been laid to embossed wove which has been laid to board.
On chine-collé laid to wove on board.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The print has some dirtying to the chin-collé. There is aged glue residue around the edges of the wove sheet from previous framing.
