Jean was born in 1952, she was a self-taught artist living and working in the South Hams. Painting started as a hobby but gradually became a more important part of her life, she then became a full time painter she painted most days. Jean worked mainly in acrylic and watercolour but over the years has used most mediums reflecting primarily her love of colour.
Early inspiration came from a trip to Venice where she was overwhelmed by the beauty of the architecture reflected in water. Since the early days her subject matter has broadened considerably, though the influence of Venice with its richness and decorative designs are still apparent in nore recent works. For more information on this artist or collection see here.
