This particular scene shows a street in Bristol, featuring a post office with a figure pictured walking along the footpath. Cryer's muted colour palette truly captures the ambience of the street during a cold winter afternoon
Presented in a simple painted frame with gilt detailing. Signed and dated in the bottom left hand corner, with an inscription on reverse as shown in the images.
In fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Ian Cryer PPROI (b.1959) is a painter, born at Filton, Bristol. He studied at Bristol Polytechnic and in London under Leonard Boden at the Mary Ward Centre, and also at Bastad, South Sweden. He has held several one-person shows coupled with showing work at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, New English Art Club, Royal West of England Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Pastel Society and the National Railway Museum, York.
Cryer is founder member of the Guild of Railway Artists and has work in many collections including Price Waterhouse, Wadsworth Brewery, Bass Breweries, Longleat House, Royal Mail and the House of Lords. He is a Past President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.
