Henry T. Schafer (1854-1915) - Early 20th Century Watercolour, Chartres, France

A finely detailed watercolour depicting a classic late 19th or early 20th Century view of Chartres Cathedral, France, and a busy street scene below. Henry Thomas Schafer (1854-1915) is known for similar works, and this is a magnificent example of his attention to detail and ability to create abundant scene of daily life. Well-presented in a gilt mount and gilt wood frame with beading detail, as shown. Signed and inscribed. On watercolour paper.

In very good condition overall, with only very light foxing spots to the upper half. The frame has some small restored losses to the corners, and is in very good condition.
