Henry E. Foster (1921-2010) - 1972 Acrylic, Abbey Meadows, Redditch
Description
A highly colourful and attractive landscape in acrylic with crayon details, by the British artist Henry E. Foster (1921-2010). Foster has achieved a post-impressionist flavour in this work, with a short layered technique, and a varied palette. The natural forms in the landscape, such as the gnarled tree branches, are given emphasis, while other elements have been softened. This contrast creates an overall dream-like setting. Well-presented in a washline mount and gilt wooden frame, with acanthus scroll mouldings, as shown. Signed and dated and inscribed. On wove.Condition
In fine condition. There are some minor marks to the mount.
