Henry E. Foster (1921-2010) - 1965 Gouache, No Fishing, Canal, Lancaster

A fine gouache painting by the artist Henry E. Foster (1921-2010), depicting a bridge over the canal in Lancaster. The scene shows a young man fishing, with an ironic sign in the background inscribed 'No Fishing'. The artist has created a sense of playfulness, with a bright post-impressionistic palette. Well-presented in a thin wooden frame with gold detail. Unsigned dated and inscribed. On watercolour paper.

In very good condition overall. There is some minor discolouration, and some minor marks to the mount.

23.7 x 34.9cm (9.3" x 13.7")
Framed Size: 42.9 x 53.4cm (16.9" x 21")
