Description

Gregory Robinson - Original Early 20th Century Watercolour. On paper, laid down on card. Signed. Minor abrasion at the upper edge and far right edge.

Born in Plymouth, Gregory Robinson (1876-1967) studied at the Royal Academy Schools. He spent 4 years at sea during the First World War. He settled in Southampton and finally Hamble, where he had a steady supply of subject matter for his painting. Much of his work displays an interest in maritime history. He wrote and illustrated “Ships that have made history” in 1936.
