Giovanni Barbaro (1864-1915) - 1893 Watercolour, The Chrysanthemums

A charming varnished watercolour still life by Italian artist Giovanni Barbaro (1864-1915). Barbaro often worked under the pseudonym 'A. Dudley', particularly when working in a more traditional style. The rich colour palette and expressive brushstrokes enhance Barbaro's creative approach to the traditional still life subject. On watercolour paper.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some .c to the varnish and subsequently minor paint loss.

35.2 x 52.7cm (13.9" x 20.7")
Sheet: 38.4 x 56cm (15.1" x 22")
