Gill Evans is a contemporary artist working mainly in pastels and occasionally oils, whose paintings cover a variety of subjects, each of which is an individual person or animal whose personality Evans is anxious to capture. The life and character must be portrayed and this is of paramount importance. Evans states '"Children and animals have such spontaneity and spirit within, that the task of depicting their unique personality is made all the more enjoyable for this joie de vivre".
After a varied career as Air Hostess, Art School Lecturer, Press Officer and Fashion Co-ordinator in London, Gill moved to Cornwall with her family where she started painting her young sons and their animals. Various commissions followed and after several years the family moved to Gloucestershire where she has painted many people's dogs, children, horses and even houses. A further move several years later to the New Forest started a period of wildlife photography and it was here that she started to publish her well known series of dog prints. Gill now lives in Cheltenham where she has her studio. For more information on this artist or collection see here.
