Collection Information
From a collection of sketchbooks and works by the artist, Frank S. Bowden. Bowden was an architectural consultant and artist active between 1926 and 1967. He lived near Trowbridge, Wilts. and was the Wiltshire County Architect. His sketchbooks are full of very fine graphite drawings of buildings and constructions that demonstrate a keen eye for architectural detail. Many of the subjects can be found in the West country, particularly in the Bristol and North Somerset areas. There are also some sketches from Italy. The sketchbooks are signed on the inside cover.
