Frank Richards RBA (1863-1935) Newlyn School - A watercolour showing simply sea and interesting sky. Unsigned. In an old mount. This is the painting that has the sign on the back saying original drawings by Frank Richards 6d each. Slight foxing.
From a cache of Frank Richards paintings and drawings literally rescued from a skip. Most have a price on the back: anywhere from 6d up to 2/6, so these must have been in some type of car boot sale at one point, pre-decimalization. I show a photo of the back of one of the items which was used as a sign. Not every picture is signed, but they are all unquestionably by Richards hand.
