An unfortunately and dramatic scene, this landscape in oil depicts a small rowing boat on a lake, with two figures against a cloud of smoke and fire behind them. The moon casts light on the scene, across the surface of the water. Well-presented in a gilt moulded frame and wooden mount, as shown. Unsigned. On board.Condition
In good condition for a picture of this age. There is some light surface discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. The frame and mount have some small marks and scuffing, with very small losses to the corners of the frame.
