A delightful watercolour painting with charcoal details, depicting a lake scene with a house in the distance. Signed to the lower left-hand corner. Title inscribed to the lower right. Well-presented in a washline card mount and in a wooden frame with gilt detailing. On watercolour paper.


The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Minor scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography

Painter, born at Shardlow, Derbyshire, who attended Derby School of Art. He was employed as a designer at the local porcelain works in Derby, and also taught at the School of Art there. He is known to have exhibited at the Nottingham Society of Artists whose shows were held in Nottingham Castle Museum.
