Eric Rolfe - Signed and Framed 1978 Oil, Mountain Landscape
DescriptionThis atmospheric landscape painting by listed British artist Eric Rolfe. Represented by the same Sussex based gallery as Duncan Grant, Rolfe's paintings display a likeness to his Bloomsbury Group contemporaries. The paint has been applied in rapid thin strokes, perfectly visualising a dynamism present in the landscape. This gives the artwork an immediacy which could suggest the piece was painted en plein air. This aspect of the painting process was popular among post-impressionists who strove to capture the essence of the natural moment. Well presented in a classic wood frame. Signed and dated. On board.
With some slight scuffs to the frame. Overall the appearance is very good.
