A fine example of the work of British artist Eric Huson. The scene depicts an English landscape view in early Spring, with its typical outlines and wide stretches of land. The fine brushstrokes, the stylized elements and the overall composition highlight the artist's clear proficiency in the subject and medium. Dated '1980-81' and titled 'Spring Landscape' to the reverse. Well-presented in a dark wooden frame. Signed. On board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and small surface marks, mainly to the sky area, otherwise in good condition. Inspection under UV light shows no signs of restoration. Small scuffs and dents to the frame.

Artist Biography

Eric Huson (b.1930) studied at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and the Shrewsbury School of Art. He actively exhibited in England starting in the 1950s, including exhibitions at the Trafford Gallery in London, the Piccadilly Gallery in London, and the Artists International Association Gallery in London. Huson's work is in the collections of the UK Government Art Collection, the University of Cambridge, and the Leicestershire County Art Collection.
