Early 20th Century Misc - Japanese Garden Silk Cuff Panel

A beautiful and finely made section of a cuff from a highly decorative kimono, happi or yukata. The scene reads vertically downwards and shows several figures collecting water, preparing a table and carrying a tray with a cowl. The scenes are full of mountains, clouds, magnolia trees, reeds, water, bamboo and fences. The silk thread used has a lustre and catches the light. This piece shows a very fine hand and is a stunning example of traditional Japanese textiles. The gentle colour palette of blues and creams sit well in its gilt effect frame. Unsigned. On silk.

The condition is typical for an textile of this age including some discolouration. The frame has some scratches to the gilt.
