Charles Pelletier (1922-2005) - 20th Century Pastel, Venice
DescriptionA finely drawn pastel by highly regarded artist Charles Pelletier (1922-2005). The vibrant colour palette and fluid marks are typical of Pelletier's impressionistic style. The gradation of colour adds depth to the composition and draws the eye to the tranquil clear skies visible to the background. We can see a lone gondola driver steering his Venetian rowing boat towards the vivid city streets. Well presented in a double card mount and modern gilt frame. With an exhibition label on the reverse. Signed. On wove.
There is some discolouration and surface scuffing to the frame. Overall the appearance is very good.
