Artist Biography
Charles Edward Hannaford RBA (1863-1955) was a painter who studied at the Stanhope Forbes School of Painting in Newlyn and also in Paris. He painted scenes in Kent, Essex, Suffolk and Yorkshire and exhibited at the RBA of which he was elected a member in 1916. He also showed at the RA, RCamA, RI, MAFA and at the Walker's Gallery, Bond Street, London. He was the father of artist Charles Arthur Hannaford. Much of his work was reproduced as postcards particularly his views of Devon and Cornwall.
