Cedric Kennedy (1898-1963) - Signed, Exhibited 1934 Watercolour, River and Stile
DescriptionCedric Kennedy (1898-1963) - Signed, Exhibited Original 1934 Watercolour. This superb watercolour was previously exhibited at the Cheltenham Art Gallery's 'Cedric Kennedy Memorial Exhibition of Paintings', no. 43, 1969. It was also exhibited at Agnews, London in 1971 - there are two old labels attached to the reverse giving this history, including a label from Sanne Grundberg art consultants. One of these original labels states that the work is signed and dated, presumably on the mount or reverse. Signed. On wove. There are a few very tiny surface spots of dirt but overall the condition is very good and the appearance is very nice. The frame has a few minor marks but is generally in good condition.Cedric Kennedy was a renowned British landscape and portrait painter who studied at the Royal Academy and was art master at the Dean Close School in Cheltenham. He also served as a lieutenant in the RFA during the First World War, during which time he was held as a Prisoner of War in Straslund, and serves at Leamington Spa during the Second World War. He painted military scenes from wars, including studies of military aircrafts.
