Artist Biography
Jan Fisher was born in Coventry and studied Fine Art at Coventry and Art education at Kings, Newcastle.
She has lived in Scotland since 1973 in many beautiful and remote parts of Highland Scotland - Wester Ross, Braemar and Tobermory on the Isle of Mull from where she did many paintings of Iona. She moved to a lock-keepers cottage beside the Crinan Canal in Argyll before coming to Fife.
All these beautiful locations have provided endless memories and inspirational ideas for painting the Scottish landscape, sky and seascapes, the dramatic changing light and seasonal weather. She is now settled with a studio above the Fisher Gallery in Pittenweem in the East Neuk of Fife, painting the rocky coastline and sandy beaches, the big skies over the Firth of Forth, and the picturesque coastal villages of Fife - Elie, St. Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther, and Crail.
