Mid 20th Century Oil - View Of Windsor Castle From The Thames
A fine oil view of Windsor castle from a bend in the River Thames. A figure can be seen fishing in the lower right quadrant. The artist has picked out the town and castle with crisp, dark line work making it it stand out from the softer trees and meandering river.
The artist has initials in the lower right corner and the painting has been presented in a a glazed, gilt effect frame with decorative, botanical strapworkOn board.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. The board is slightly too small for the inner window so you can see the backing board of the frame at the top and bottom edge ever so slightly. The frame has some tarnishing typical for its age but is in otherwise fine condition.
