Patrick Lambert Larking (1907-1981) - Mid 20th Century Oil, Wooded Path
DescriptionA deft and atmospheric oil showing a walled path running behind a house, surrounded by trees. With bare branched trees and a warm, earthy palette the painting seems to be set in late Autumn. The confident composition and assured brush strokes suggest a skilled hand. The artist has signed in the bottom right corner and the painting is presented in a smart gilt effect frame with a dyed linen border and off white inner border. Signed. On canvas.
The painting has small spots of debris in the lower right corner and slight craquelure along the white section of the wall. The frame is in typical condition for a frame of this age, slight chipping to the corners and some marks to the off white inner frame.
