A delicate and handsome view of Bridgnorth, Shropshire, by the well-listed artist Grenville George Cottingham (1943-2007). Well-presented in a contemporary wood frame and double card mount. There is a label to the reverse from Moya Bucknall Fine Art, with the title. Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On watercolour paper.


In fine condition. Very light surface scratches to the upper frame edge.

Artist Biography

Grenville George Cottingham (1943-2007) was a painter and printmaker, born in Exeter and studied at Exeter College of Art 1960-63 under Clifford Fishwick and at Liverpool College of Art 1963-64. He was appointed as artist and teacher to the Seafarers Education Service by the director of the Marine Society.

In three years he travelled 150,000 miles on various ships throughout the world. He exhibited many times at the RSMA and was elected a member in 1988. He was also a member of the RBA and exhibited at the RARI and held solo exhibitions at Woodlands Gallery, Blackheath, Quay Arts Centre, Isle of Wight and at the Hallam Gallery, London.
