Jonathan Edward Hodgkin RBA (1875-1953) was a painter of landscapes in watercolour. He is sometimes referred to as Jonathan Edwin. He was an engineer by profession and a prolific painter who was self-taught. He was a Trustee of Bowes Museum and was a founder of the Darlington Society of Arts in 1922. Elected to the Royal Society of British Artists in 1928, Hodgkin also exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and Walker's Gallery.
