An interesting coloured engraving by Joseph Hope-Williams.mixes, Hope mixes his colours by hand, and uses old recipes that include beer and gum. Artist Biography

Joseph Hope-Williams was born in 1937 and is concidered to be one of the only artists alive who still produces Penny Plain and Twopence Coloured prints. Hope uses the original old techniques, which he learnt from extensive research in London museums. Hope worked at the Theatre Royal in Norwich where he worked as a scene painter for 20 years.

Hope has a stock of over 100 plates. He prints on a small hand operated press in cramped conditions, just as many of the old publishers would have done. He is also known for his Tinsel pictures and
