Fine Early 20th Century Watercolour - The Wilderness, Suffolk
DescriptionA very fine early 20th Century watercolour, depicting a large country house in Suffolk, England, entitled 'The Wilderness'. The house appears sprawling, with a church tower behind, and gothic ogee window arches suggestive of the Georgian and Regency period. The artist has a minute technical approach to form and shadow, with a high proficiency in the medium. Unsigned and inscribed. On watercolour paper.
In very good condition. Some very light surface discolouration.
