Description

A beautiful Edo period Ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock print on wove, laid to backing card, by Utagawa Kunisada (1786 - 1865), also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III. The print depicts a scene from the Chushingura (The Treasury of Loyal Retainers). Signed in characters and stamped to the lower left-hand corner. Signed.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface marks. Some very small tears to the edges (largest measures 1.5 cm).
