Henrich Harder (1858-1930) - Oil, Track Through a Sunlit Landscape

A large expansive continental landscape in oil by the artist Henrich Harder (1858-1930), depicting a sunlit dirt track through heathland, with a copse of trees in the distance. Employing a textured style with light impasto, the artist uses this technique to apply a significant sense of depth and proportion. A fine romantic study of the natural landscape.

Well-presented in a silver gilt wooden frame with plain white wooden slip, as shown.

Signed. On canvas on stretchers.

In very good condition, especially for a picture of this age. Some light surface discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There is a patch of surface discolouration to the lower left corner. The frame is in good condition overall, with some surface markings and scuffing.
