DescriptionA finely executed watercolour by the Greek artist Christoforos Assimis. Christoforos's mastery of the medium of watercolour is very evident in this painting. His limited palette has perfectly captured the unique landscape and light of the island of Santorini. The painting is wonderfully presented in a white card mount and a simple light wooden frame. An artist brochure which includes images of the artist's work, as well as a biography of the artist is included with this picture. Signed. On watercolour paper.

Christofors Assimis was born in Santorini and studied painting and sacred panting at the Fine Art School of Athens University. Upon completion of the 5 year course in 1970, he graduated with honours. He has exhibited in Athens at one-man and group exhibitions and also at the National Annual Exhibitions. In January 1967 he won the First Prize in the National Competition of Young Artists. Since 1974 he has lived and worked on Santorini, where he has decorated the Cathedral and other churches. He specialises in the landscape and the light of Santorini. The Greek Ministry of Civilisation as well as painting - collectors, both in Greece and abroad, have bought a number of his paintings.
