Description

A fine example of a delicate landscape work in watercolour with charcoal detailing, by the listed British artist Percy Lancaster (1878-1951). This composition is typical of the artists style, depicting a rural landscape with a castle and a bridge by a river.

The artist employs a range of tones and shading to produce a remarkable sense of depth in the medium. The use of charcoal expertly draws the eye to specific areas of finer details, producing a well balanced composition.

Signed and inscribed. On watercolour paper.
