A delicate and charming watercolour by the artist Joseph Compton Hall RBA (1863-1937), depicting a quiet landscape scene of a rural English farm. Dated and inscribed in the lower right hand corner. Well presented in a simple wood frame with gilt effect detailing, as shown. Inscribed and dated. On watercolour paper.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing, particularly on the mount. The frame contains some minor scuffed edges.

Artist Biography
Joseph Compton Hall FRIBA RBA (1863-1937) was a British architect and painter of landscapes, predominantly in watercolour. Born in Cork, Ireland, to William Bancks Hall, he attended King William's College on the Isle of Man. He became a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1901, most notably completing alterations to Dunham Massey Hall, and several church restorations.
He was later elected to the Royal Society of British Artists in 1918, and exhibited at the RBA, as well as the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour. He was also a member of the Langham Sketch Club, and Chelsea Arts Club.
