DescriptionAn interesting miniature portrait after the painting of Caroline von Holnstein by Josef Karl Stieler (1781-1858) held in the Gallery of Beauties in Munich, entitled 'Caroline Countess Holnstein'. This is likely to be painted on a printed base, although this is not immediately apparent. Beautifully presented within a circular brass trim, in a gilt wood and piano key frame. Inscribed.
There is cracking to the piano key inlay, as shown in photos. Loss to the top left corner of the frame.
