Description

An original 1760 hand-coloured etched map of eastern parts of Europe, to include Russia, Hungary, Poland and Turkey, by Jean-Baptiste Bourguignon D'Anville (1697-1782). This is the third part of a map of Europe, with hand-coloured borders and seas. Inscribed 'Sousle Privilege de l'Academie: chez l'Auteur, aux Galeries du Louvre' below a cartouche in the upper right corner, as shown. Unsigned and inscribed. On laid.

Condition

In good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is some even surface discolouration to the paper, and some surface dirt around the edges. Some small tears and creases around the edges, but none affecting the main print.
