Julius Rosenbaum (1879-1956) - Charcoal Drawing, Under the Linden Trees, Berlin
DescriptionA fine and interesting preparatory drawing, most likely for a larger work, in crayon by the German painter Julius Rosenbaum (1879-1956). Entitled 'Unter den Linden in Berlin' or 'Under the Linden Trees in Berlin', the work depicts a street scene with figures and a central monument in the German capital. Rosenbaum has a dynamic approach and style, creating a distinct sense of setting. Signed to the lower right corner. On wove.
In good condition overall. The substrate is very thin, lending itself to curl a little at the corners. There are several historic creases to the upper right quadrant, lower right, and left edge. Very small loss to the upper edge, and a 1cm tear to the left side.
