Giovanni Barbaro (1864-1915) - Late 19th Century Watercolour, Mixed Fruit Study

A delicate and charming late 19th Century watercolour by the artist Giovanni Barbaro (1864-1915), depicting a well balanced still life composition consisting of red and white grapes and plums. Giovanni Barbaro was an Italian artist, born in 1864. Barbaro's work has been offered at auction multiple times.

The delicate application of the watercolour medium beautifully portrays the contours and shapes of the various subjects, highlighting the artists clear proficiency in the medium. The slightly darker wash of the background retains the focus on the fruit, with fine brush strokes in the foreground adding a sense of immediacy and precision to the focal point of the painting.

Signed in the lower right hand corner, as shown. Well presented in a double card mount and a modern silver and gold frame with fine gilt effect detailing.

Signed. On watercolour paper.

In good condition. There are some very minor scuffs on the frame.
