Overall the condition is good. With some minor discolouration to the substrate. Small marks to the edges and corners of the frame.

Hervey Cadwallader Adams was a painter in oil and watercolour, best known for his delicate landscapes. He was born in Kensington in 1903, and was was educated at Charterhouse. Adams went onto study languages and singing in France and Spain from 1922 to 1926. He studied painting under Bernard Adams from 1928 to 1930. He exhibited at the RA, RBA, and Leicester Galleries. He was elected N.S. in 1930, and R.B.A. in 1932. Adams taught at Berkhamsted School from 1937 to 1940, and at Tonbridge School. He wrote several books on art and lived near Stroud in Gloucestershire.
