After Jacques Louis David - A Pair of Miniatures, Monsieur & Madame Seriziat
DescriptionA delightful pair of miniature watercolour portraits depicting Pierre Seriziat & Madame Seriziat. After the 1795/96 portraits by Jacques Louis David (1748-1825). Madame Seriziat was the sister in law of David, and in 1795 he left Paris to seek refuge at her country home after his imprisonment during the French Revolution. These copies are fine examples of the original full length paintings. Both are well presented in contemporary silver frames. Both inscribed on the reverse. Signed illegibly. On ivorine panel.
Overall the condition is very good. Some very minor discolouration.
