Herbert Oswald Lumby ARBSA (1884-1955) - 1937 Watercolour, The Launch

Item Sold

A charming and meticulously detailed watercolour scene by the British artist Herbert Oswald Lumby ARBSA (1884-1955), entitled to the reverse 'The Launch, Filey Brigg, Scarborough'. Lumby has a clear proficiency in the medium, instilling movement and drama in the setting. Well-presented in a washline mount and stepped mottled resin frame, as shown. Signed, inscribed and dated on the reverse. On wove.

In very good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is some minor surface discolouration to the picture, and some light foxing to the mount. The frame has some scuffing to the corners.

7.7 x 11.6cm (3" x 4.6")
Framed Size: 20.4 x 24.2cm (8" x 9.5")
