Rudolf Wenghart (1887-1965) - Framed 1947 Oil, Portrait of a Blone Girl
DescriptionA very fine mid 20th century portrait by the celebrated Austrian artist Rudolf Wenghart (1887-1965). Here he has captured a pretty young girl with blond hair and a blue bow. She gazes at the viewer with a nonchalant expression and a half smile. Completed in Wenghart's realist style, with fine attention to detail and a lifelike realism that captures to essence of the sitter. Well presented in an ornate swept frame. With small label on the reverse for a furniture depository, dated 1950 with the name 'Duckett'. Signed and dated. On canvas on stretchers.
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some minor surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals no sign of restoration to the painting. Minor marks to the frame, with some restoration work to the lower left of the frame near the ornate moulding at the lower corner. Finished to a high standard.
