Hugh Edward Ridge (1899-1976) - Signed & Framed Oil, Estuary Sunset
DescriptionAn impressive oil painting showing a docklands scene at sunset by well listed British artist Hugh Edward Ridge. The impressionistic style and vibrant tone gives this industrial scene a picturesque feel. Ridge has expertly recreated the reflective waterways using a palette knife to give the composition a dynamic quality. Well presented in a simple gilt frame. Signed. On wove.
Inspection under UV light reveals a patch to the canvas which has been filled and retouched. There is scuffing and some minor losses to the surface of the frame.
