Late 19th Century Pen and Ink Drawing - The Royal Military Tournament

Item Sold

Description

A wonderful pen and ink illustration capturing the British Military Tournament. The Royal Tournament was the world's largest military tattoo and pageant, held by the British Armed Forces annually between 1880 and 1999. The venue was originally the Royal Agricultural Hall. The drawing probably dates to the later 1890's or early 1900's when the tournament was extremely popular. Well presented in a cream card mount. Unsigned. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light foxing.
