Henry Earp Senior (1831-1914) - Late 19th Century Watercolour, The Valley Green

A early 20th century watercolour landscape by Henry Earp senior. The artist has captured an idyllic landscape of the village green in Ockley, Sussex. White gouache highlights and gum Arabic give the composition depth and richness of tone. Well presented in a gilt effect frame and mount. A gallery label on the reverse from Arthur Sutcliffe & Co gives the title and artist, as well as a catalogue date, May 3rd 1920. Signed. On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and foxing. There are small losses to the moulding of the frame, most noticeably at the corners (upper and lower left).

24.8 x 36.4cm (9.8" x 14.3")
Framed Size: 43.2 x 54.8cm (17" x 21.6")
