DescriptionA very fine and imaginatively coloured artist's proof etching with aquatint, depicting an interior hall with grand staircase and balustrade, and a pair of candelabrum, by the British artist George F. Fallows 1920-2011). Inscribed 'A/P', and signed and dated 1983 by the artist in graphite, below the plate. Signed and dated. On wove.
In good condition overall. There is some foxing to the edges of the etching, and some slight surface discolouration and foxing to the mount, as shown.

George Frederick Fallows was born in 1920 in Romiley, Cheshire, England. George Fallows moved to London in the early 1950s to engage in a high successful career in the Art and Design department of the British Broadcasting Corporation television studios, otherwise known as the BBC. He worked there until he retired. His skill in the art field was recognised by the Royal Academy of Art in London, where his paintings were accepted for their Summer Exhibition on numerous occasions.
